Mission:  The VA Crusaders Youth Development Center mission is to empower youth to win in the game of life.

Purpose:  The VA Crusaders Athletic Program is a project of the United Charitable Program, a registered 501(c) 3 public charity.  The purpose of the VA Crusaders Athletic Program and Youth Development Center is to address the needs of the community by building self confidence, self direction, and good sportsmanship through positive and competitive sports and programming.

Objective:  The objective is to mentor youth and young adults participating in the VA Crusaders Athletic Program and Youth Development Center through community cohesiveness and personal character development.  It’s our goal to continue to provide the enhancement programs for youth between the ages of 4 – 17 and young adults 18 years old and older to actively participate in sports activities in their community. By participating in the program, individuals are required to maintain consistant attendance, mandatory practice, and self evaluations that will ultimately lead to less time for crime, gang violence, and imprisonment.

Program Description:  Education is the cornerstone of the program. The VA Crusaders Youth Development Center is an informal educational program that utilizes the game of football as a metaphor to develop leadership, entrepreneurship, personal budget management, business management, and social life skills.  Group leaders utilizes innovative informal education curriculums, provide homework assistance and tutoring Monday – Friday during after school and summer camp hours.  Youth are divided into groups by ages according to the development workshops. The innovative curriculums help youth develop the skills and knowledge that will enable them to confront life challenges and will help youth to lead successful productive lives.  The program is designed to develop the student through educational workshops, life skill trainings and disciplined athletic activities encouraging them to become a well rounded individual.

Athletic Development:  Fine tuning the details through consistent conditioning, practice, and training for an elite game performance.  The VA Crusaders Athletic Program and Youth Development Center Coaches and Staff will maximize youth and young adults through first class physical and mental preparation.  Our efforts are focused on the youth and young adults in preparation for speed, strength, physical fitness, footwork, balance, agility, position drills, and nutrition.
